The destination spans from Skellefteå in the south to Kiruna in the north, and is determined by the free flowing rivers connecting local destinations with each other since the beginning of time. The river valleys constitutes ancient travel routes, source of food and income - twining together the destinations' history and culture.
The marketing of the brand Swedish Lapland is managed by Swedish Lapland Tourism, which is a collaborative platform representing the tourism industry within Norrbotten county as well as Skellefteå municipality.
