Ráidu – Sami culture and reindeers
A guided tour that will give you insight to the Sami culture. Transfer in snowmobile sled to Satosjohka Sami camp. The reindeer herder welcomes you and you will be invited to the reindeer pasture. The reindeer herder will tell you more about the Sami culture and the way of life of herders. After the visit to the pasture it is time to try to drive your own reindeer and sled around a short course in the woods.
Comfortably seated on reindeer hides around the fireplace in a Sami tepee you will be served a traditional reindeer herder lunch and coffee, which has been cooked over the open fire. During the return trip from Sautosjohka we will make a stop at the Sámii Siida open air museum and crafts shop where we will get a guided tour of the Sami camp and get a deeper insight to the Sami culture.
