Aunesgården (Aune Farm)
Aunesgården is an attractive Tornedalen homestead museum consisting of six buildings. A large farmhouse surrounded by loft cottages, a baking cottage, storehouses, and a cowshed show how people used to live in these areas. Timber for the buildings was fetched from their own woods. When you step into the buildings you are transported back to the 1800s. Aunesgården has many objects on display, such as cradles, household utensils, tools, clothing, and beautiful trousseau chests decorated with folk art, as well as lovely rag rugs on the painted floors. Guided tours are available during the summer.
