In 2008, for the seventh time since its foundation in the year 2000, Luleå was host to the Swedish Forum for Human Rights. The conference was attended by 4,000 people, twice the number in the previous year.
“It’s absolutely fantastic,” said Caroline Mattsson from the organising team.
Over the two-day period 150 seminars and lectures were held in 21 conference rooms at Kulturens Hus and other locations around Luleå. In addition to lectures there was a diverse programme of cultural events including singing, music, theatre, Jojk folk music, dance and films.
