Saltoluokta is the perfect spot for daytrips as well as longer expeditions into the World Heritage Laponia.

By Lake Langas, where no roads lead, you can stay comfortably in the lodge with mountains and relaxation just outside the door. Here, people and families from all over the world gather around the open fire and in the century-old restaurant – still decorated with its original furniture – meals made from local produce are served every night. The fish is from the lake just below the station and the reindeer have grazed on the mountain above.

A larger wildlife area cannot be found anywhere else in Sweden

Saltoluokta is situated at the border of the World Heritage Laponia which includes the largest national parks in Sweden. A larger wildlife area cannot be found anywhere else in Sweden, and nowhere else is the Sámi culture as alive as in Laponia. People gladly stay here a little longer and enjoy the table’s delights, the surrounding ancient forests and steep mountains – on your own or with experienced guides.
