Atmosphere with a lovely scent of leather

Welcome to Böle Tannery and their turn of the century atmosphere, characterized by the lovely scent of leather. The company has been in the same family since 1899, now operated by the 4th generation of tanners.

The experience starts when you step into the showroom and the tannery, which carries an interesting story about a handicraft that is unique but still alive. They will explain how exclusive goods are manufactured out of their bark-tanned leather.

When you walk up the stairs to the Saddler the saga continues. Here, you will see how minister briefcases are handcrafted, and perhaps a picture frame of leather that is just to be delivered to His Majesty the King.

Böle Tannery is a true story. Founded in 1899, they are the last standing spruce bark tannery in the world. Under the same roof, they handicraft their unique cattle leather into bags and other leather goods.

The products are made to last and to age with style. Böle Tannery genuinely believe that they make the world’s best briefcases and the beautiful rucksacks are created from organically tanned reindeer skin. Recently they introduced the Classic collection as a tribute to traditional sadlery.

As a 4th generation family business, and a purveyor to the Swedish royal court, they take the sustainable view on everything they do.

Böle village is located along the Pite River just south of the Arctic Circle in Sweden.
