Ice Music is a celebration of the winter spirit of Swedish Lapland – a new art form where the musicians play on instruments made of ice – ICEstruments.

Sounds unbelievable, but it’s happening. Step into the concert hall a gigantic igloo. The orchestra glows and pulsates in all the colours of the rainbow. Be swept away by the crisp, rich and energetic sound – the voice of ice. The concerts are played on ice violins, ice guitars, ice drums and more but the music varies from concert to concert.  Some are classic, some are rock and some are folk music, it changes from week to week. We invite you to experience the magic of Ice Music with us in Sweden’s northernmost destination.

The ICEconcerthall is actually built by two igloos, connected together in the middle. The chimney holes in the roof makes sure that the body heat and breath from the audience are vented out and provides the ideal temperature,– 5 ° C, on the stage in the middle of the igloos.

When: Middle of January – end of March. Complete program will be posted on the Ice Music website, www.icemusic.se, in mid-November.
