Kukkola village is known for the way of grilling whitefish.
Grill your fresh caught whitefish. The fish is first put on a skewer and then grilled over an open fire. The method was documented for the first time about 500 years ago. The Timber Smoke Hut, one of the oldest buildings in the Kukkola cultural village, is from 1700s. During the grilling of the fish, you get to hear about the methods of preparing fish as well as fishing culture in Kukkola. We serve ‘tunnbröd’ (Swedish hard bread) and ‘sima’ (sweet sparkling brew spiced with lemon and brown sugar) with the grilled whitefish.
Why don’t you take the opportunity to combine whitefish grilling, whitewater rafting and a sauna for a truly genuine Swedish Lapland experience.
This 2-hour activity is available all year.
