Experience Swedish Lapland in the winter.
Sandsjögården is a charming holiday resort. It is not only charming because of its location, sitting in the middle of a clearing, right by the shores of Lake Sandsjön. Nor is it only charming because of the nice, traditional wooden cabins surrounded by pine trees and clear skies. It’s mostly charming because it feels like going home, only away from home, and with the luxury of being welcomed, pampered and cared for by your hosts, the Swiss expats Caroline and Daniel.
Sit down in the romantic restaurant with old fashioned furniture and large windows with a cup of coffee and a treat, or choose from the sumptuous breakfast with freshly baked bread and homemade jam. The a la carte menu has a strong focus on local produce and Nordic cuisine. This means getting treated to a carefully cooked meal with a taste of the forest, water and wild and composed with a modern twist.
The resort’s location by Lake Sandsjön, covered with ice in the winter, makes it easy for activities if you wish to do so all by yourself. If you want any help with activities, Sandsjögården offers a small choice of activities directly – but there’s also plenty of things to do in the area to choose from.
Coming back to Sandsjögården after an active and adventurous day, the log sauna at the waterfront invites you to warm up, relax and enjoy the peaceful evening silence at Lake Sandsjön. If you are feeling particularly brave, you can even take a dip in the ice hole to cool down after the sauna.
