One of Sweden’s most beautifully situated campsites is located at the Pite River on a cape previously renowned for the midsummer celebrations.
Sikfors Konferens och fritidsby is an excellent alternative for those who wish to have a look around this interesting area. The campsite is known for being well run and you will always be very well treated here.
They offer a hotel, cottages and conference facilities. At the campsite, they currently have 70 sites with electricity. There is a fully licensed restaurant in the area as well as self-catering kitchen facilities and laundries. The campsite also has a playground.
As a service, Sikfors offer freshly baked bread daily from their bakery.
For fishing fanatics, there are lots of great fishing waters within walking distance, where extra fish have been introduced. The Pite River, which flows outside of the campsite, offers great trout, grayling and pike fishing. Fishing licences are on sale at the reception or in the supermarket, Vargens Livs, 600 metres from the campsite.
Sami-style barbeque hut
Sikfors can also offer a barbeque hut in Sami style for up to 70 guests with a fireplace, a bar and tables and chairs around the walls. This is a popular spot both for conferences and celebrations of all kinds (weddings and birthdays, etc.). The cabin is well known for its mural, depicting the Pite River. The painting is in the Guinness Book of Records in 1998 for its length, 46 x 2,5 metres.
In addition to the sauna available in the hotel (which is included in the camping fee), there is a separate sauna house with a hot tub on the beach for rent. The hot tub is a barrel of hot water placed out in the open both summer and winter, with space enough for 16 people.
Nearby is also the hiking trail “Solanderleden” which is about 50 kilometres from Piteå to Jävre, a lighted jogging track about 700 metres from the camping, and a suspension bridge from which you get a nice view of the Pite River.
Upon request, several activities can be offered to the client as Dog sledge tours or snowmobile.
