Laplandhusky is a small adventure company offering genuine dogsledding tours in “Europe’s last wilderness”.
Laplandhusky look primarily to private individuals who do not want to be out in a larger group, but would rather experience the whole activity of nature and dogs more intimately.
Relaxed sled dog safari
Sitting on reindeer pelts enjoying the winter landscape in the experienced guide’s sled. The trail goes out into the quiet wilderness with untouched nature. You stop halfway for some refreshments around the open fire. In the evening tour, there is often the opportunity to see the Northern Lights.
Musher for a day/half day
A day tour where you drive your own dog team (about 4 dogs per team). Your experienced guide will drive a team in front of you. You will stop during the tour and prepare a wilderness lunch over an open fire. Then your tour continues back to the starting point where the tour ends with helping to unharness the dogs.
Rookie musher tour
Experience the winter landscape whilst driving your own sled. Your team will follow the experienced guide’s team. You stop halfway for some refreshments around an open fire. Then your tour goes back to the starting point. During the evening tour, there is often the opportunity to see the Northern Lights.
Friends Rookie Musher Tour
Experience the winter landscape with a friend. You share a sled with one driving and one sitting. Your team will follow the experienced guide’s team. You stop halfway for some refreshments around the open fire. You swap over driver and sitter. Then your tour goes back to the starting point. On the evening tour, there is often the opportunity to see the Northern Lights.
Aurora Husky Tour
Drive your own dog-team into the unknown where the wildlife dominates and the chance of seeing wild animals is high. Be like a trapper from the ”olden days”. Sleep in huts, make fire, learn winter skills, and be without modern facilities. If you get lucky, out deep in the dark forest, the experience of the Northern Lights will be something out of the ordinary. Return with unforgettable memories of your new four legged friends.
Day 1: Arrival, introduction of the tour, get clothes and gear, re-pack for the tour, short winter training, basics of dog-sledding, safety instructions and dinner.
Day 2: After breakfast you get ready to go. You stop for lunch during the day. In the evening you stop for the night. Accommodation in a heated hut. First you take care of the dogs so they can rest and recover for the next day, and then yourselves with a nice dinner.
Day 3: You take care of the dogs and eat breakfast. You repack the things you will need during the day and take a longer day tour with lunch on the trail. Then you come back to your Sami hut camp in the evening. You take care of the dogs, and then yourselves with nice dinner.
Day 4: You take care of the dogs and eat breakfast, you pack up everything in the camp and clean the area after you. Then our trail goes back to the homestead. Before you arrive, you stop for lunch on the trail. Back at the homestead we take care of the dogs and all the gear. In the evening we enjoy a nice dinner and sauna.
