Snowshoe tour across Vindelfjällen nature reserve

Seasons to visit:

On our snow shoes we will experience a very varied landscape

We pick you up to the wonderful mountains of Swedish Lapland, in one of the most beautiful natural sites in Europe.

You will be immersed in a almost indescribable world of ice and snow, from the incredible peace emanates a true balm for the soul. The silence and the light of winter will captivate you and never let go.

Arctic Mountain Team will pick you up at the airport or railway station and you spend the first night in a cabin. On your snow shoes you and your guide follow the Vindelälven river upstreams. The river has shaped this region for thousands of years and it is the largest protected area in Europe and covers an area of about 6000 km ². You will experience a very varied landscape: pristine birch forest, the high mountain area above the tree line, rugged mountain peaks, raging rapids and huge lakes and wetlands.

During the next days you will dive into the silence of the white wilderness, along the trough valley of Vindelälven. The stages are between 10 and 20 km long, you will achieve your targets for the day without any stress. Enough time to rest, relax and take pictures is planned. The route leads across hilly terrain and incredibly mountain valleys. You stay at the beautifully situated, simple mountain huts. The baggage you carry in your Pulkas, the typical Scandinavian sled. Only the personal clothing is worn in the light backpack. Walking with snow shoes is easy to learn.
